The Sami dwellings that were once used when visiting the church are today a beautiful reason to visit
Lappstaden
Lappstaden is Sweden’s largest preserved Sami church town. In Lappstaden there are over 80 kåtas and barns from the late 1700s which are still owned by Sami families. The last weekend in August every year, Lappstaden is truly used during the Great Gathering Weekend, a Sami church holiday.
